B.Tech-MBA Dual Degree in DTU, Delhi
Jan 10, 2013

Starting 2013-14 academic year, Delhi Technological University (DTU), formerly known as the Delhi College of Engineering (DCE), will launch four new programmes, one of which is the offlately famous and overhyped Dual Degree course for B.Tech and MBA.

While three of the programmes are at the Masters level, the undergrad stream will focus on the dual degree for engineering and management. Most of the colleges across the country are now imbibing this concept of dual degree since students generally prefer the sterotype 'Engineering followed by MBA' route. The dual degree, which practically saves one year instead of 4 (engg.) + 2 (MBA),  will now be the new fashion of DTU.

In addition, the board of management has also decided to add one more seat in all the discplines of undergrad engineering for admission to the central/state toppers. "In the meeting of the Board of Management, it was also decided that each of the engineering programme will have provision enroll central/state board toppers. These seats will be over and above the sanctioned intake", says the DTU spokesperson.
The university already has a provision of enrolling a single girl student for all its undergraduate engineering programmes which again is over and above the sanctioned intake.

The management has also decided to double the intake for PhD courses from 50 to 100 which will boost the undergrad candidates to opt for doctrate courses in India.
